About the Artist
Lynwood Lord is a writer and photographer based in southern California. He is a native of New Jersey, where he grew up hiking, biking, and exploring its beaches and nature preserves.

After stints as a technical writer, GIS technician, and publishing director, Lyn joined the Integral Institute (II), where he serves as Managing Editor of the Journal of Integral Theory and Practice. Prior to joining II, he spent several years helping UCLA researchers develop and promote behavioral interventions for at-risk youth. He has co-authored articles in journals such as the Journal of Clinical and Consulting Psychology, Public Health Reports, and the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry. His photography and writing have appeared in magazines, including Backpacker, Resurgence, and Budget Travel, and he has won or placed highly in several photography contests sponsored by the Nature Conservancy.

Like his photo hero, Galen Rowell, Lyn tries to reduce each photograph to one problem.
